Why we need all the support we can get.

Unfortunately, this blog has a very sad story.  A fellow BHF volunteer died after an on going heart condition.  This is why we need your help, if we can raise enough money less and less people will die from heart disease.  Please click on the image and read the story, and spread the word.

Stage One: Getting Started

Yesterday was the first time all the designers got together and they went for a good old rummage around the Epsom British Heart Foundation shop.  

Rummaging through the racks, looking for goodies.  

The items that the students picked will be turned into bespoke pieces for all of you bidders out there.  They found some interesting stuff, including a duvet cover with horses on.  Bobi hopes to turn this into something that could be worn on Derby day.  

There was plenty of variety for the young designers to choose from.  

Two of the female designers will be giving menswear a go for the fashion show, and seemed excited by the process.  

The designers even had a quick rummage through the kids section for any possible inspiration.  

Stage one is complete, now the designers will be meeting their models and beginning to create their garments.

Hello and welcome to the Passion for Fashion Catwalk Show blog.  If you don't know what we are about, where have you been?!  We are a group of volunteers from the University for the Creative Arts, Epsom, hoping to raise £2,000 for the British Heart Foundation's 'Mending Broken Hearts' appeal.  

We are organising a Catwalk show which will take place on Wednesday 11th May 2011 at The Bourne Hall, Ewell.  The event will showcase 14 garments bought from the local BHF shop and re-designed into something bespoke by UCA's finest designers.  After the show these garments will be auctioned off.  

All models on the catwalk are "real" people that have either suffered/know of people who have suffered heart problems or who just want to get involved in a great cause.  They'll feature men and women of all different shapes and sizes, so you'll be sure to find something for you!

Tickets cost £10 each with all proceeds going to the British Heart Foundation.
